The helicopter charter operation at Cape Town International, south africa, is a diverse and multi-divisional helicopter company operating 22 helicopters, 8 of these being our own assets. To date, Base4 Helicopters is widely regarded and experienced in both on and off-shore operations using a variety of single and twin engine helicopters. We have serviced, or are currently servicing, ongoing helicopter operations in Namibia, Angola, Mozambique, Madagascar, the Antarctic as well as various locations in South Africa. Aerial filming applications and platforms, fire fighting, dedicated EMS aero-medical evacuation, external load operations, game capture, flood relief, security (surveillance & tracking) VVIP Charters, surf rescue and offshore salvage and vessel support are but a few of the many types of helicopter operations we are capable of performing on a daily basis.

Base 4 Aviation was founded in 2001 by the Waterford Family Trust and up and till today is managed by Darryl Waterford.
The company commenced with a fleet of one Bell 407 Helicopter. She is currently in operation and seen as our flagship.
The aim was always to create a one stop helicopter business fulfilling the needs of any helicopter related issues. Since 2007 we have grown and have achieved more than we could have imagined. We have opened a Flight Academy that will assist the flying enthusiast to obtain their Private and/or Commercial Licences along with numerous ratings on larger machines. Base 4 Aerotech was also opened and assists our clients with basic line maintenance to engine overhauls.
Base 4 Aviation is fully certified to operate Single and Twin Engine Helicopters.

Since its inception in 2007, AMO 1087 has grown from strength to strength and has increased its capabilities extensively.  The AMO can currently carry out maintenance on Robinson R22 and R44 helicopters; Bell 206; 407 and 412 helicopters; as well as the Eurocopter BO 105.  In addition, the AMO has also obtained the rating to carry out compass swings.
